Bill Kelman has this posted as a product approved ad at Geico... again, there are 100s of ads like this, BUT... for my full reasoning take a look at the blog page on www.intelegant.org

Thanks JBJAG! I stand corrected - but I also stand by my opinion - ehtics enable competition - without them we end up with a society that has no yardstick - at what point was it appropriate to dishonour the Marine Corp... I think believable has it to be sesitive to middle American sensibilities...

Dude - in reference to your comment 'Gieco' didn't make this spot - Bill Kelman made this spot in an attempt to sell it to either an ad agency or Gieco - hence it is a 'SPEC SPOT' And with regard to it being offensive - you are entitled to your oppinion but have you watched the news recently ? Solider are dying every day in Iraq - the point of the commercial is to make it seem real and believable which I think they did a good job with with. I'd have used stock footage of the actuall bin laddin and redone the VO rather than use a bad lookalike...but all the same it's a good spec spot....

Is this possible the most tasteless advert ever - I live in Sweden and was REALLY OFFENDED by the "5 marines die outside Kabul" -- I think Gieco sould not have made this -- not that many insurance buyers in the 13-14yr old range -- and any one over that age can't really find anything to laugh about in this - or maybe I'm just out of step here?
