Notes:
The spec was presented to the heads of Anheuser-Busch early Dec. 2004. Although it was liked very much, they are currently 'staying away from this type of advertising' due to last years Superbowl and the more recent MNF opening on ABC. Too bad... Timin

Oh yeah I don't know if AB owns Jagermeister, they may, but if not I would edit out that sign in the back.

Good Job! Right up Bud Lights Market. Did you try Chiat Day. I believe that is their ad company! They would probably just get pissed they didn't think of this first!

Excellent. And as far as those critics who say this could never happen, I guess you don't believe that horses kick fieldgoals, that guys have revolving refrigerators spin around and provide beer to the guys living in the adjacent apartment, and people don't go to the Bahamas to skip their pagers across the ocean while drinking beer.

This feels like a real Bud Light commercial. Well done. I think the nitpickers are jealous and don't have anything even close to this. The concept is clever and totally works. Thumbs up. You guys have real talent.

Also, theres a jump cut when she's finishing licking his chest and the shot when she's standing up again.

Technically it is fine. Good lighting, good sound. But I agree that it's a little degrading and does not reflect well on the product.

Congratulations to actor Matthew Prater on his National Tower Records spot in rotation. I’m sure it paid more than the spec spot. It can be seen at http://www.sedgwickrd.com/work/port/blessing.htm Scheer

I don't mean to rain on everyone's parade here, but this would never in a million years happen. I don't care how studly the guy is. Maybe if it was chocolate, but not But Light. C'mon, Bud Light already tastes like cat pee when it comes out of a bottle. But I guess throwing in some random guy's body odor will help!

this spot is fantastic! a solid concept despite an extremely limited budget. GREAT directing, EXCELLENT acting, and i LOVE the punch line. well done gents. well done.

the acting is terrible, the idea is gross and interferes with what SHOULD be a mouth-watering contemplation of what it would be like to drink Bud.

nice job, good satirical ending....enhanced the product placement too-pardon the pun

Good work, pure humor, I watched it several times to get the full effect. More brand reinforcement than a tool to compel a consumer to purchase the product, but still, good work.

Had this been a real spot and you had a real budget, it would have been talked about and become a ‘pun’ in bars. A little risqué, but aren’t all sports ads! Funny! Director did a great job with the performances. Production value is good but not quit where it needed to be (i.e. money).

I agree that the spot is funny. Lots of humour involved. But my opinion is that the story isn't genuine and credible.

very funny. well done. love the chick in slow-mo shot. the one big flaw and you know this john, is production design. instant give-away that i'm watching a spec. however, judging from what i see on this site i'm sure you're going to be a quite successful comedy director. ironchef

We liked it a lot.

From the Director: I had no idea that the ‘girls walking toward camera’ would cause such debate or dislike. Considering the budget, I thought my spot was actually weak in a different area (and the fact we only had 2 shirts to tear). However, the slo-mo girls seemed like a good idea at the time…? And ‘sex’ has been used successfully in advertising for puns, jokes and laughter. But, there is a saying. Just because McDonald’s makes a lot of hamburgers…it doesn’t mean they do it well. In this case, just because sex has worked for other commercials…maybe I didn’t need it…or…shoot it well. Never the less, I greatly appreciate everyone’s feedback. I enjoy the comment area for all the good and bad! AND TUDOR, I agree on the girls getting up...I pushed in too much during selects...ooops! Peace John Scheer

why doesn't anyone like the 3 girls walking at camera ? thats the second remark in the comments section ! Guys drink beer and like hot chics walking to camera slo motion.....its just the way it is !!!!!! Oh ....so what if the spot is over when the guys pour beer on themselves. I will take all the slo mo babes i can get. dumbfounded mark

Stated subtext - the gag lost its humour value on the slo-mo chick shot. Maybe the director watches too much charlies angels...

Solid concept. Well lit. Music could have been a bit more energetic. When that blond chic was getting up, and the other brunnette actually got there, kinda threw it off. plus the blond was better looking anyway. The VO is excellent for a spec. That last slo-mo shot was not needed, just end on guys pouring beer. -Tudor
