Try using friends and having them vanish, less disturbing.

very well lit, great sound overall great production. If you are to judge on advertising potential its near zero, but its a hilarious bit that really showcases the production company's talents.

creepy which doesn't seem to serve the product. the tone is off for carvel though it is an enjoyeable spot to watch, it'd never get mistaken for something they would actually use. Don't care that it is dark or moribund but if you are trying to convince people this could be a real ad and/or sit on a real to impress, it might raise some flags.

Yeah funny in a dark way, made me laugh. As a "real" advert? no chance! As something for your reel to show your directing capabilities... sure. Although the end was predictable, and boring as the last reviewer commented. GP

Offensive and not funny. I would hate seeing this commercial repeatedly.

too scary and dark for a commercial..... More fit for a movie like "Very Bad Things"

Although the message is clear, its definately a waste of money to shoot this one. People don't respond well to death.

The best laugh I've had all day! Definitely not predictable, and hilarious. Everyone loves this kind of ...just can't wait til your friend sees it...kind of spot. And to the other visotor that rated the spot, who says they're dead? Quit being so serious and enjoy! Heck, I bet they're just unconcious! hehehehehehe Wickedly funny!

Assuming this wasn't a family of narcoleptics, the girl poisoned her family to have the cake to herself. There could be a nice cross-promotion with Ortho.

"last time I saw a carvel store"? I see several on the way home from work, too (so.cal)... except now, they're asian or mexican fast food restaurants. All that's left of the original Carvel markings are the vacuum-formed back-lit sheild shapes around the roof-line of the building. They used to display different ice cream items. Now, they advertise the beef-teri-bowl with rice.

"When's the last time I saw a Carvel store?" Every night when I drive home I can pass two of them. This ad accomplishes nothing but puts ideas in the head of future Columbine-ists.

I loved it. Had me in tears. Now I want a Carvel cake...

funny, edgy...Carvel could use a kick in the pants...they're obviously not doing so well with the "family" approach they now have. When's the last time you saw a Carvel store?

maybe I'm just being too sensitive, but to associate birthdays with death seems a bad idea all around. I mean who is the targ here?
